Traditional oat flapjacks

ingredients
25g/1oz golden syrup
50g/2oz caster sugar
75g/3oz butter
175g/6oz rolled oats
• Preheat the oven to 170°C/
325°F/Gas mark 3. Lightly grease
a shallow baking tin.
• Melt the syrup, sugar and butter
together in a heavy pan. Remove
from the heat. Stir in the oats and
mix well.
• Press the mixture firmly into the tin,
and bake in the oven for about
35 minutes. Leave to cool in the tin
slightly, then cut into generous
portions while still warm.
